In 1993, Jaylyn began as a fireground training photographer during a leave of absence from active duty on the Fire Department.

She began shooting events and individuals in 2004, beginning with her own children, and branching out from there.

In 2009, she opened Jennelynn.com. In 2024, she changed the name to Wild Vandalia in honor of her home state, West Virginia.

Jaylyn shoots with dual Nikon Z9s and more than a dozen coordinating professional-level lenses. Jaylyn has the "holy trinity" of low-light lenses, of course. And the rest of her collection ranges from 12mm to 500mm (obviously overkill for an event).

In addition to bodies and lenses, Jaylyn has entire setups for on and off camera lighting, including hand a floor rigs.

Jaylyn's rates for second shooting start at $65 an hour and top out at $125 an hour, depending on the event, the capacity in which she is performing, and the duration of the event.
